I need some opinions. I've got a box ready for use as a media server. I'm wanting to use Debian, so that part is decided.
I'm debating running a network connection to a Raspberry Pi 3 and from there to my flatscreen. I do have a Roku connected to the TV, but am unsure how I could incorporate it.
Any suggestions on suitable media server software? I have used Kodi in the past.
I should probably mention that I am thinking a headless server would be optimal, unless there is anything I am unaware of.
1. Plex(I have used it for years and works great and Roku has a Plex channel which I know because I use it)
2. MiniDLNA which I have played with because Plex is entering that slippery slope of sharing data and can also use w/ Roku
3. MediaTomb which I believe is no longer under active development.
4. Universal Media Server which I don’t really have experience with.
5. Kodi which I use intermittently but sometimes it works great and sometimes it doesn’t. At least in my experience on an rpi2&3
