250 xx-xx.xx.org Hello [SolarisBox-ip]
afterthat,mail server is not responding.
So please help me to fix it.
You might check Firewall and selinux settings.
use 'system-config-securitylevel' if you are on redhat linux.
From command line
You check can selinux status using
#sestatus
and firewall setting using
#iptables -L
You can flush firewall settings using
#iptables -F
and to make selinux off
#setenforce 0
Where are you telneting from? Are you telneting to localhost or an actual IP. Your mailserver may be configured to only listen on port 25 via localhost so that the system's daemons can send error messages and such to existing accounts. In a setup like that, you won't be able to use sendmail for outbound e-mail. You can test this by attempting to telnet to port 25 from another machine (and not just get a prompt but attempt to manipulate the server from the telnet session, as you could if you telneted to port 80 to another machine).
