No sound with XDMCP

I'm using Ubuntu, which uses gnome. I'm trying to use XDMCP and a thin client to listen to music that the server is to send. However, I'm not picking up any sound. I am not getting sound when I play videos from the client computer. I am not getting sound regardless of what activities I do on the client computer. I can view things, but I cannot hear things.

How do I fix this problem?

I read something about aRTs, but it seems that's only for KDE. I'm not sure, though.

XDMCP is strictly for graphics and does not provide remote audio, so you need to use a sound server that supports network access, such as PulseAudio.

ARTS is the sound server for KDE 3, but AFIAK it is not used by other desktop environments.
