Getting sound when you login remotely with XDMCP

Hi, All,

I'll try to make this somewhat coherent, so here goes:

I have 2 computers, one newish, and the other older.

The newish one is running slackware-current, and I would like it to run the apps for my oldish computer(which is running FC2, with KDE installed).

I thought the best way to go about doing this would be to login to the newish computer from the older one via XDMCP, and get the gdm login from the newer computer. I have 2 problems that I would appreciate help on:

1. the older computer has a voodoo 3 3000, which is running fine under fedora core 2. when I run glxinfo under XDMCP, it says direct rendering: no, and glxgears framerates coincide. I would like to be able to utilize the voodoo while running XDMCP.

2. I am having trouble getting sound running networked, as well. I have only figured out that my best bet is using artsd, although I have been unsucessful.

Thanks in advance!
