Question Need X console from remote


Hi Freinds

I have query I want X console from remote say puTTy so please advise how do i activate remote console access of Linux machine and what software you recommend is Xmanager and PuTTY are capable for performing this task.
I am using RHEL 5.2.

well putty is only for access over telnet / ssh etc, although it can tunnel other protocols like vnc which will give you an X console. you might like to look at freenx which is a pretty good and accurate replica of windows remote desktop, wrapping vnc and ssh together. take a look.

I recommend using Xmanager and Xshell together.

Xmanager and Xshell are both developed by the same company (NetSarang Computer, Inc.). Xshell is free for home and school users and packs more user convenience features than Putty.
