Need to work out rewrite rules with proxy-balance

Hello everyone,
I have a problem and I need some help to figure it out.

I have an apache webserver working as a load balancer with mod_proxy and mod_proxy_ajp for some tomcat servers and works like a charm.

Now I need to do some tweak so I can forward everything to the tomcats but 1 web folder. in other words:
Anything that is not /local/ has to be forwarded.

I tried locating some rewrite rules and conditions before or after the proxy statements but so far it handles one or the other.

Any ideas or recommendations?

Thanks a bunch
