need help trying to update glibc-2.12 to 2.17


running red hat 6.4 x64 i can update it to 2.14 but not 2.17 i need to do this offline this is to support some software that our dev's have create with newer framework i tried to grab the rpms for fed19 but im getting a requires /usr/bin/bash
thanks for any help you can provided just got handed this thing and im not the most linux savy so any help would eb appreciated

install a different OS
or hack the program that is requiring 2.17 so that it excepts 2.12

you CAN NOT !!! use fedora 19 rpms on RHEL6
most will KILL!!!! your install of rhel6
the exceptions are some fonts and minor extra programs like games

you can NOT use fedora19 glibc on rhel6

you could try to rebuild the SRC rpm ??? but expect a busted system if you do


seeing as this IS RHEL6
you DO have the REQUIRED support contract with Redhat

contact your already paid for redhat tech support

that is why you are paying for it , so you might want to use it
