Missing file apxs2 and related for apache2. Possible to transfer from another system?
I am attempting to upgrade from PHP 4.3.10 to PHP 5.2.0 on a system running SuSE 9.3 linux and Apache 2.0.53. During the configure/compile stage, I was told that the system could not find the apxs2 file. I did a system search on apxs* for myself, and what it came up with were several html files bearing that name, plus a single file labeled apxs2.8.gz. In contrast, another system I recently updated (from php 4.3.4 to php 5.1.6, running Apache 2.0.49) bore a number of apxs2 files, usually bearing an extension such as -prefork. None of these are to be found on the system I am now working on.
In the phpinfo result page, the original system, which had the apxs2 files, was listed as being an x86_64 system. Running phpinfo on the system I am currently working with reveals it to be an i686 system. Would it be possible to seek out the directories containing apxs2-related files and transfer them between the two systems, or would this be more likely to cause errors to occur? And if I cannot or should not transfer them, does anyone know where I can go online to find the apxs2 file(s) I would need for an i686 system? For that matter, exactly what files would be needed? Can I search out the apxs2 files themselves, or is there a prepackaged rpm I need to be looking for?
Thank you for your consideration,
EnderX
