Load Monitor Notification

One of my servers is a rather old and outdated Ensim server. In the logwatch's that get sent to me, I sometimes will notice that sendmail has rejected a few connections due to load averages on the server. I'm not too concerned about the 1-3 rejections, but I am curious on what is spiking it.

I was wondering if anyone knew of any daemon program out there that would be useful in this situation. I'd like to be able to capture the active processes when a certain load average is exceeded. Any thoughts?

Bob
