Linux Date and Time changes manually

Hi,

I changed linux server date and time using the following command

hwclock --set --date="09/21/2005 14:23:23"

#hwclock --hctosys

#hwclock –systohc

The date and Time-PDT is updated now. Would that be updated after DST changes?

Yes, DST changes are usually released as updates, as long as your OS is up to date then the time should change on/off DST on the correct dates.

In addition, if you dual boot your hardware clock should be set to local time and linux configured correctly (/etc/sysconfig/clock). Otherwise the hardware clock should match the /etc/sysconfig/clock setting in order for the time to be adjusted correctly.
