Linux Client for MS SQL 2005

I'm after an equivalent to what I believe is the 'sqlcmd' that comes with MS SQL 2005...

Essentially, I want to run a script on a Linux machine, that will connect to the MS SQL server on a Windows machine, dump a table to a text flat file on the Linux machine, then import that table to a PostgreSQL database on the local Linux machine...

MSSQL Table -> Text File -> PGSQL Table

At the moment, I'm doing this PostgreSQL to PostgreSQL but due to management it will soon need to be MS SQL 2005 to PostgreSQL

Any pointers would be great - keeping in mind I've never used MS SQL before

possible solutions

Well, you'll probably be using the FreeTDS (www.freetds.org) driver. If you're doing java, jTDS (http://jtds.sourceforge.net/) will do. Beyond that, maybe checkout something like... http://www.freetds.org/software.html. Seems like there is a method to call mssql from the command line.

Freetds will be the way to go. I used it for one my project a while back when I needed to connect to mssql with php to retreive some data and worked fine for my needs.
