I'm trying to make one Linux server (primary purpose is to run squid and will be our network proxy) authenticate in our active directory.
I've tried everything. I went to samba.org and followed their examples in
http://us3.samba.org/samba/docs/man/Samba-Guide/
Their examples are great... My scenario is described in their examples in chapter 7 (
http://us3.samba.org/samba/docs/man/...ts.html#adssdm)
this explains how to make a Linux box authenticate in a active directory scenario.
As soon as i get to the point where the box joins the domain:
net ads join -UAdministrator%not24get
I get the error "no logon servers available".
I know it is validating the password cause if I fail the password on purpose in gives an access denied. If I put the correct password it gives that error. I've checked all my config files, all the logs, google, etc... I didn't find much help.
Whats really frustrating is that I've done this in the past without any problem at all... but now....
Thinking the problem could be from the active directory i was using i changed all the config so that it joins another domain we have, in a totally different server/network. Same problem.
Can anyone help?
