how to create mediaserver?

i just finished setting-up my FC5.. wanna set-up mediaserver but how? my clients is windoze-based.. so i'll be accessing my mediaserver via internet-browser.. something like "//mediaserver"..

what application should i use? or what's the best idea to access it via browser and stream the videofile w/out downloading it.. i'm afraid it may affect my network.. lagg..

you've really not said anything about what you expect this thing to actually do... all i'd assume is that you want a file server accessible via windows. That'd be done by confiuguring SaMBa under linux. Check samba.org for details. Or search LQ here for specific issues if and when you have any.
