help in setting up http server on FC3

Hello,
I am a linux newbie and need to get some urgent work done.

Basically i want to set up a server on my FC3 machine. MY ISP gives me a static IP. My friend needs to send me files (each is over 100 MB hence cant send them through email).I want my FC3 to accept these incoming files as and when he decides to send them.

Can someone please guide me as to how I can get this done? Ive started learning linux just 2 months back so please go easy on the language and amount of detail.

rather than a http server, get a ftp server running
useradd myfriend
passwd myfriend
chsh -s /sbin/nologin myfriend

next put in your FC3cd and go to the rpms section (eg /mnt/Fedora/RPMS)

rpm -ivh --aid vsftpd*.rpm

after successful installation

chkconfig vsftpd on
service vsftpd start

well you have a user myfriend created here, who can login to your ftp server and put the files on your comp, which will be at /home/myfriend
