Question FTP Server Installation and Integrating with Windows 2003 Active Directory.

Hi Everyone,

Please help me I am beginner in Linux. I need to install FTP Server in CentOS and it has to integrate with Windows 2003 Active Directory. Users should use their Active directory Credentials to upload or download files in FTP Server.

Thanks in advance.

Vsftpd may work, from the man page :-

Quote:
local_enable
Controls whether local logins are permitted or not. If enabled,
normal user accounts in /etc/passwd (or wherever your PAM config
references
) may be used to log in. This must be enable for any
non-anonymous login to work, including virtual users.
If you configure the system to authenticate users off AD (winbind|ldap/s) then this should work

cheers

Winbind seems to be the preferred method these days, take a look at 'man authconfig', the authconfig command will do all the configuration work for you.

cheers
