FreeNAS accesses Floppy drive at boot for way too long

It's a minor annoyance, but I'd like to fix it. I just installed FreeNAS on an old compaq. When booting it gets past recognizing the floppy and then finds the hard drives and the cd rom and then the light on the floppy drive comes on and stays on for close to 5 minutes and I can hear it making the classic floppy drive noise trying to access it. Any idea what it's doing and more importantly how do I make it not do it short of removing the floppy? thanks

Look in the BIOS settings to see if there is an option to probe the floppy drive and if so disable it. Other BIOS options that might work would be to remove it from the boot order and/or disable it.
