File Permissions

Hi All, could do with a bit of help here

I have a Ubuntu 12.4 box running with samba access. In samba the permissions for a file should be 755. I have a user on a mac that transfers files over but the permissions stay as they were on the mac which is 6xx

I thought that what ever the permissions were on either the folder files were being put in to or the permission in Samba, should set them as 755.

Any advise would be great

Thanks

Glenn

Are the create mask and directory mask settings correct for the share in question?

- [Samba] create mask = 0777
- Make samba create files with usable group permissions
