I have a problem with my existing port of Debian running on a USB stick and driving my QNAP, to ZFS Filesystem.
So I want to run my Debian server via ZFS root.
Basically I have no problems with it and have already done some installations of this kind.

If I install Debian on ZFS (root) on an internal hard disk, there are no problems.
I have no problems with Archlinux on USB with ZFS (root),
only with Debian on USB with ZFS (root) the pools are not included at startup.
I guess it's the order of the devices at boot time, in this case USB.
In Archlinux ( or Manjaro) I can use mkinitcpio.conf to set when the blockdevice should also be available (hooks: block, keyboard....etc).
How can I do this on Debian?
Or isn't that my problem?

Have I made myself unclear or misleading?
Should I explain more about installation or partitioning?

The aim was to install Debian on ZFS Root on a USB stick.
I did this installation several times in a virtual machine and documented it.

It works both installing Debian on a USB stick and installing Debian zfs root on a VM, BUT not
Debian based on ZFS root on USB.

I suspected that the USB drivers were not loaded early enough to find the pool.
But adding the modules in /etc/modules has not changed anything

If I run the command
'zpool import pool -N' and then enter exit,
the system boots just as it should, but not by itself.




Maybe it'll be a little clearer now? I hope =

I solved it with the help of the Debian forum and my own research.
There was only a timeout to enter in /etc/default/grub to load the USB drivers.
