Cron - "incorrect minute" what's wrong?

I'm not great with cron, I'm trying to add the following to my crontab but when saving it keeps saying invalid minute:

0,15,30,45 * * * * /usr/local/bin/indexer --config /usr/local/etc/sphinx_ipb.conf ipb_search_posts_delta ipb_search_topics --rotate >/dev/null 2>&1

0 4 * * * /usr/local/bin/indexer --config /usr/local/etc/sphinx_ipb.conf --all --rotate >/dev/null 2>&1

I'm trying to get the first one to run every 15 minutes, and the second every morning at 4AM ... know what's wrong with it?

To run every 15 minutes try the following:

*/15 * * * * /usr/local/bin/indexer --config /usr/local/etc/sphinx_ipb.conf ipb_search_posts_delta ipb_search_topics --rotate >/dev/null 2>&1

Cheers,

can you describe how you are editing the crontab and where you are seeing "invalid minute"?

I login via shell, and enter "crontab -e" this brings up the nano editor for the cron file, I have the following contents:
Quote:
9 0 * * * /scripts/upcp
0 1 * * * /scripts/cpbackup
*/15 * * * * /usr/local/cpanel/whostmgr/bin/dnsqueue > /dev/null 2>&1
2,58 * * * * /usr/local/bandmin/bandmin
0 0 * * * /usr/local/bandmin/ipaddrmap
19 22 * * * /usr/local/cpanel/whostmgr/docroot/cgi/cpaddons_report.pl --notify
0 6 * * * /scripts/exim_tidydb > /dev/null 2>&1
0 4 * * * /usr/local/bin/indexer --config /usr/local/etc/sphinx_ipb.conf --all --rotate >/dev/null 2>&1
*/5 * * * * /usr/local/cpanel/bin/dcpumon >/dev/null 2>&1
I try to add at the very bottom:
*/15 * * * * /usr/local/bin/indexer --config /usr/local/etc/sphinx_ipb.conf ipb_search_posts_delta ipb_search_topics --rotate >/dev/null 2>&1

Ctrl X to exit, y to save, then I get this error:
Quote:
crontab: installing new crontab
"/tmp/crontab.XXXXRydCDF":11: bad minute
errors in crontab file, can't install.
Do you want to retry the same edit? n
crontab: edits left in /tmp/crontab.XXXXRydCDF
