Cant connect remotely on 22

Guys, got a really niggly problem here, I'll try and descrive as accurately as possible, in the hope that someone here can advise accordingly.

I've had a slackware server running web, ftp and mail since forever I think, Slack 9.1

Anyway, I have a static IP address and several domain names pointing to it and normally remote in using putty from my windowz machines without issue.

However, I have very recently had to change my IP address and the domains pointing to it have all been updated and all again seems to be working with exception of connecting through ssh.

here is where I am confused though, I can connect remotely through putty to the IP address and all but one of the domain names. Now the domain name which doesnt allow me to connect, IS pointing to the server as the other services are responding to it, web, ftp etc.

Any help in further investigating this would be dearly appreciated.

Thanks in advance...

Harry

First check /etc/ssh/sshd_config for ListenAddress and it should be something like this:

ListenAddress 0.0.0.0 or ListenAddress * so it can listen on all adapters and not on one particular ip address.

Then if everything ok, try to see iptables, flush it or see if you have some weird rules will might not allow you to connect.

Try also to disable selinux, if in case its enable or at least set it properly.

Also the ISP could have block the port 22 for some reason, but thats the last problem I would say.
