Can you monitor the servers condition?

Hi,
I was wondering if it's possible to optain some information of the server's status via network only? Just basic info like processor temperature.

Thanks!

you can access any statistic remotely via snmp that you can get locally. if you have lm-sensors up and running then i think net-snmp will provide it automatically through its default config. any app like cacti can then track this from a remote server.

I have installed the munin now but I cant figure how to install plugins... I copied new plugin script under the plugins directory but I am unsure how to make the munin run that (I did chmod it to 777). The documentation doesnt seem to have any examples of this, so if any one knows please tell.
