drwxrws---+ 2 c2 changers 4096 Feb 18 19:58 c2

ls -al /guests/c1
total 20
drwxrws---+ 2 c1 changers 4096 Feb 18 19:57 .
drwxrws---+ 4 root changers 4096 Feb 18 19:57 ..
-rw-rw----. 1 c1 changers 8 Feb 18 19:57 c1

getfacl /guests/c1
getfacl: Removing leading '/' from absolute path names
# file: guests/c1
# owner: c1
# group: changers
# flags: -s-
user::rwx
group::rwx
other::---
default:user::rwx
default:group::rwx
default:group:readers:r-x
default:mask::rwx
defaultther::---

i want to be able to assign the group "readers" read access to guests/c1 but it says access denied. but it shows r-x acsess. can anybody help. i want to be able to control who has read access and not just give it to everybody.

What user are you when trying to give this level of access? If you are root, you can do:

chown root:readers /guests/c1
chmod 770 /guests/c1
