It depends on your distro where to look. On Centos/RedHat, the daemon is called named and its config file is /etc/named.conf. In there, a logging option specifies the log file. The named also logs messages to /var/log/messages on those distros. On Debian, the config file should be /etc/bind/named.conf.

You can also start the named with debug options and/or start it in the foreground with option -g; see the man page for details.

By the way, the ispconfig home page states "huge documentation and big community with support forum"; have you asked your question over there?

what distro you are using ?
Give us some more info what you tried to check it is not working and where did you checked for logs.

By Default it should go to /var/log/messages.
if not is your service running ?
