can using wine with microsoft office or any other windows softwares be a security issue? virus or other?

A program running in wine can access any of the files that are available to the user running wine, if you run wine as root then a buggy or malicious program can wreak your system.

If ms-office works then micro viruses could infect any document that wine has permission to write to.

Windows viruses in wind can infect windows executables that are writable.

does it mean that a virus/malicious prog can basically have access to any folder specified in wine config file?
