Samba security changed?
Hi all, I'm new to Linux and Samba, I am seeking urgent help from anyone here on the following problem:
Here is a simplified network diagram:
[Dept-A Switch]---[Cisco Router]---[Dept-B Switch]
Hardware connecting at Dept-A side:
1. A Windows NT Server as Domain Controller, DHCP
2. A Linux server with these services (Samba for file sharing)
3. A number of Win-XP Clients
4. These XP Clients have joined NT domain directly
5. The subnet is 192.168.1.X
Hardware connecting at Dept-B side:
1. A number of Win-XP Clients
2. These XP Clients have joined NT domain via cisco router
3. The subnet is 192.168.2.X
Situation before problem occurred:
Both XP Client at side A and side B can "MAP Samba drives" and "NT drives" after they have properly login NT.
Due to unknown reason, the linux went down, I just restarted Linux server without any modification to any machines, then the problem happened:
Side-A Clients still can "MAP Samba drives" and "NT drives" as before.
BUT,
Side-B Clients can only "MAP NT drives", but NOT "Samba drives".
It is confirmed that no change have been made on any equipment and their configuration. A snapshot of the smb.conf can be found at the bottom of this post.
However, I can still browse the computer name of both NT and Samba machines. When I try to click into the samba machine, it doesn't allow to connect. When click into the NT machine, it is OK.
I have googled many many pages and still no luck. Would anyone please help me to figure out what's wrong with this problem? Thanksssss a lot!
