check the /etc/rc.d/init.d directory for a file named lisa or something along those lines. Open up a prompt and type "/etc/rc.d/init.d/list start" if lisa is the name of the service. If you want it to autostart, make a link to it in the /etc/rc.d/rc5.d directory.

enigmasoldier: when did slack move to SysV init? I run Slackware 9.0 and still have the old bsd style init which i like quite well.

nkitilizer: if you still have the bsd style scripts you can simply add a line in /etc/rc.d/rc.local something like this

/opt/kde/bin/lisa

good luck to you

it works...

thanx a million, without your support i'll be nothing, i edited /etc/rc.d/rc.local and added /opt/kde/bin/lisa and wala... it works ...so, does this means that everytime the system reboots it will initialize lisa automatically?

I really appreciate your help.
