proftp on 21


Hi friends,

in my environment proftpd is running port 21 kept listening mode .Is it advisable to keep it?please suggest

If you don't need it then just shut it down.They are just gates for different attacks

I agree that if you aren't using it you should disable and/or uninstall it to reduce risk.

That said, why is it running in the first place?
