proftp

I was wondering if I could get some help on setting up proftp security. What I would like to do is add a few users for the ftp and make it so they can only operate in their defualt home directory, I don't even want them to be able to change out of it. How would I go about doing this? Thanks in advance!

PS. This is somewhat off topic, but I was wondering how I go about changing passwords for users, thanks again!

As for the password changing... `passwd <username>`

Thanks rose_bud4201, I wasn't aware that I could just do it with that. I appreciate the help on that! Anyone got a clue on what to do with the ftp? Thanks again.

It's pretty easy actually,

To make sure everyone enters in their default homedirectory and can't escape out of it, put the following in your /etc/proftpd.conf.

DefaultRoot $HOME

And another hint (what may sound stupid to you), do some reading, i haven't had much trouble setting it up for myself.
