POP3/SMTP ximian Problem

I use Redhat 9.0.

I just got a free account from gmx.net (20 megs!) and i have set up everything in linux. My pop3 is pop.gmx.net and the smtp is mail.gmx.net. I used to be able get my mail and recieve it and stuff, but I can't do either. I get this error message: Error while performing operation: Host lookup failed:Mail.gmx.net: unknown reason. and Error while fetching mail: Host lookup failed: pop.gmx.net: Unknown reason. the account is working fine because I just sent my other email a message in outlook (**sigh**) and it worked fine, but it won't work with ximian. Any help? I disabled my firewall to see if that would work, but it still won't.

Please do not post the same thread in more than one forum. Picking the most relevant forum and posting it once there makes it easier for other members to help you and keeps the discussion all in one place.

Try putting in the IP addresss of they mail servers instead of the names as a test to see if it makes a difference, should be 213.165.64.20
