OpenSCAP is a great reference for hardening guides and baselines for Linux systems security:

https://www.open-scap.org/

Defense Information Systems Agency took OpenSCAP baselines a bit further and created their own documentation on how to harden government owned Linux systems focusing on RHEL (they can still be applied to other distros):

http://iase.disa.mil/stigs/os/unix-l...ges/index.aspx

They provide a good base for hardening a Linux server but keep in mind security never has a one size fits all solution. It helps be vigilant, keep your servers patched, use good access controls, train users, and be aware of the latest vulnerabilities.

Here is a basic guide to security on RHEL 7 but a lot of the information within it can be translated to other distros as well:

I'm guessing you found this site with a Google search...did you try, MAYBE...putting your question into Google as well???? Read the "Question Guidelines" link in my posting signature. We are happy to help with specific questions, but asking for handouts and for people to look things up for you, isn't nice.
