Is opera browser more secure than firefox?

Online, I see many security alerts firefox but none related to Opera or other browsers. Is Opera more secure than Firefox?

it's because firefox is more popular so they really want to have more readers because many more people search for firefox issues but not for opera or others.. same with internet explorer .. it's got more than 50% of the browsers market... so it's popular , and from microsoft , so they make lots of fuss about it...

There is one (of many) feature(s) in Opera that I adore, the 'stop executing scripts on this page' option in Javascript dialogues. Ideal for those 'want some boxes' kind of joke sites - amongst other things.
