so .. i have a server i am running php4.3.4 with httpd2.0.48 , squirellmail ...


and proftpd1.2.9 ... i managed to create virtual servers for my users ... i changed the owner ... apache.apache to each home dir ...
but when they try to ftp in ... can't do that ... if i only set the user groups to apache .. then they won't be able to view the webpage .. says access denied ... i don't want to give them shell access i want just ftp and web ... but each time seems they exclude each other ... if i set up web to work ftp goes down .. if i put frtp to work httpd goes down ... help ...

Change the permissions on all the web pages to world readable, but only valid user writeable.
