Smash the chips to tiny pieces is right answer. SSD redundancy can hide some of your data from you and erasure, but top level forensic person can recover it."Secure erase" feature of ssd in binary blob ssd firmware is as trustworthy as those who wrote it, so not enough if a serious case.

The reason to read them is to know if they are a waste of time or actually useful.

Any web search at all will return many pages, and even of the first 20 of them it will be that few to none of them worth anything and some of them will be harmful or generally bad advice. The point in asking here is to find information and or guides which will actually be useful rather than just a waste of everyone's time.

Since it turns out that the SSD is removable, it would be relatively inexpensive to buy a replacement unit and just take a hammer to the old one. Though I would think that a few of the software approaches mentioned earlier would do as well.

1. why waste my time doing something they can do for themselves, I am not trying to be an enabler for codependency disorder.

2. that is not my in my being helpful job description what I did you and anyone else can do including the OP. google it. do your research.

3. I gave a few leads. let the other follow up on what fits their situation.

4. so I am "required" to do all of their work from them just short of going to wherever they are at and actually finishing the job? (there are times I feel like doing that for the other, but this is not one of them.)

No, you don't need to waste your time. But if you want to help the OP with something, you need to do something useful. Suggesting some random page is not helpful

Yes, if don't want to do it just don't do it. But in that case why do you post?

No, that is not leads. You are not even sure of their usefulness.

No, you are still not required to do anything. But if you post something, we assume you know your post is actually useful. At least you might save the OP some time.

the actual useful of what I posted was the search string that I used and he and you and anyone else can use then do their due diligence to see if it pertains to there situation as I am not there to find out exactly that everything. a certain amount of work is required by the asker as well. not someone trying to guilt trip me for something that the other can do by themselves.

if you want to run a babysitting operation then that is you, not me. so stop trying to push your babysitting ideology onto me. I gave what they needed to do the rest of it. to help them learn how to grow up and do the bulk of the work themselves if needed. as there is nothing wrong with asking but if you want to help that other to develop a codependency personality disorder then that is on you, and leave me out if it.
