How to access the system behind ADSL router


Hello

Every one

I want to access a linux system A trough ssh via internet.

Now the probelm is that System A does not have Public Ip address.

System A in remote office has ADSL connection , ADSL has public ip address .

Is there any way that I can access system A ?

You have to consult the manual on your ADSL router. You need to assign a private static IP to your linux computer, do not use DHCP, then you need to forward port 22 to the private static ip address.

Some routers can give you "the best of both worlds", assigning a fixed IP to a box based on its MAC, yet doing that through DHCP. This means that all assignments are done & changed in 1 place -- the router -- & the client boxen continue to use DHCP clients to get their IP's.

This is not a true static IP, but it works the same, & is easier to set up -- if your router has the capability. I haven't managed my LAN any other way for close to 5 years.
