how do I increase Permissions for users other than root?


How do I increase another users Permissions? Because I installed RealPlayer and only root can run it and veiw media with it, no one below root can run it.

You can add more groups for the user (e.g. cdrom, audio, etc.) which will give the user more permissions.

If nothing else works, you can add the group 'root' for the user, although I wouldn't recommend it.

Check out the KDE user manager (KUser) under "System" menu.

Just change the permission/s for RealPlayer.
