CUPS web interface not accessible from remote clients
I have a CentOS machine running in the house and I want to use it as a printing system. I also want the convenience of having it accessible through it's web interface. I have set the following options in the hopes that it would make the WebUI accessible from other computers on the network.
changed contents of /etc/cups/cups.conf
Code:
Listen 192.168.1.91:631
Allow From 192.168.1.0/24
I restarted the cups server and went to a client machine to connect to the web interface for configurations. Low and behold I get the "403 Forbidden" error. How do I fix this? google searching comes up with nothing. I would expect a solution to this to be simple but that doesn't seem to be the case.

Does the firewall if running allow traffic on port 631?
You can enable remote administration from the web administration page or via the command line tool cupsctl on the machine itself without messing with cups.conf directly.
I just recalled that since I don't have desktop access to the machine I am trying to get remote web access to the CUPS interface that this wasn't going to fly. It took me until when I came back to work on it to figure that out. If I was able to reach this setting remotely through the webui then that would've defeated the purpose of this thread. I am wanting to know exactly how to setup the CUPS server to listen to requests for it's web interface on the outside instead of from itself.
