Beats the hell out of cnn or fox (actually almost ANYTHING is better than fox). And I could have gotten the story from Al-Jazeera, but I decided to stick with BBC.
I think that things are not so clear. I think things may be leaked and put up on wikileaks for a purpose. Also, wikileaks never seems to release anything groundbreaking ... only small nonsensical tidbits that don't really come together. Not that useful.
I don't know if thousands of war files could be considered tidbits. However I wouldn't put wikileaks in the position of releasing documents for the sake of sensationalism, since the only noise you hear is the US gov, (and probably fox) condemning any kind of release of such documents. I wouldn't say that they are mere tidbits, going through thousands of files would probably seem a little too much for an individual, so it could be interpreted as nothing special.
Wikileaks might seem a little shady in it's operations (money issues), but who is even darker, when kinda at the same time around the leak of the Afghan files, suddenly Assange is 'accused' of sexual assault? Who had a hand in that one? It is no secret the US gov. is out to get Assange, but I would have expected a more discrete approach rather than trying to get him on a 'sex crime', I would have thought the US gov. would have tried to have him silenced either through assassination or by a sudden 'relocation' of Assange to an undisclosed place.
