It's still BSOD (black or blue) ... they can't get rid of it. It's almost like a ghost in the machine, a messenger from the past, one that refuses to die because of all the injustice that was done, it must have revenge ! Muhahahahah !

I read somewhere you can change the blue screen to whatever colour you want, blood red might be more appropriate. I suppose they chose blue as the default for its calming influence: "Your computer's f***ed but DON'T PANIC!"

I've heard that Windows 8 will be sold with Valium included for the colorblind.

Well apparantly Microsoft has already issued their response to the BSOD: http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/technology/8388253.stm

Unknown problem

The firm said its fix did not work in all cases.

"There can be many causes," said Mr Kennerley.

"But if your black screen woes began in the last two weeks... or after running any security program (including Prevx) to remove malware during this time, then this fix will have a high probability of working."

Mr Kennerly said the firm had identified "at least 10 different scenarios which will trigger the same black screen conditions".

"These appear to have been around for years now," he said.

The firm reports that the problem affects editions of Windows 7, Vista, XP, NT, and Windows 2000.
High probability of working ... that's good to know, makes you feel in control.
