HAHA! WIthin the past few weeks I have set up and delivered a Dell of the same model for a friend -- in Colorado.

My wife ran across this story and saw the photo and shouted "John shot his computer!".

I looked over her shoulder and saw the headline "Colorado man shoots computer..." and the photo and thought "What have I done?!".

As I scanned down the page for more info I saw the reference to his endless battle with the blue screen of death and knew it wasn't him - I installed Slackware...

It wasn't him... but it was the same model computer, kinda sad... if only he had known how well they run with Slackware!

It does not take a lot of brains to squeeze a trigger.
Takes some brains to install Linux and run it though. When you figure out the costs of bullets, computer, fines.

Darwin would of disowned this dude.

(I own weapons, but keep my temper)

Dell wouldn't give me my sales tax back on a defective unit I returned to them. Doubt they'll give this poor fella his money back. Stinking Dell.

Wouldn't it be more satisfying, and good exercise, to smash it to pieces with a sledgehammer?

Do you expose yourself to any toxic material when you do stuff like this?

You expose your self to toxic materials every time you eat out or walk the side walk on city streets. Hell. I expose myself to toxic materials every time I take the trash to the dumpster
in the alley. Or ride my motorcycle.

Busting up a computer with a sledgehammer pales in comparison to that.
Not that I would bother with it. I'd rather use the case to hold my manuals.

Depends on the year built. Some systems have an icon on it that tells the user that almost no toxic material is in it.

The older systems had a wealth of issues.

I doubt the person who was firing the weapon was in danger other that a safety rule of not shooting at things other than paper target. Unknown deflection of projectile maybe.
