yum in rhel4


the yum command in rhel 4 is not working.its saying command not found.can anyone help me out as to how to install it.

it doesn't exist. you can't install it. use up2date instead to install software from rhn.

well, in fact it does exist, but really isn't what you should be doing... http://pkgs.repoforge.org/yum/

You can use this to get the correct up2date cmds https://access.redhat.com/kb/docs/DOC-2531
You can also get an rpm to install yum from Centos. I'm pretty sure RH did backport yum to RHEL4, but the default is up2date, you have to install yum.
Unfortunately, don't have access to RHLE4 repos to check.
