Question yum on RHEL4 problem

Hello everyone,

Currently I'm trying to get yum to work on an RHEL4. Now keep in mind I'm a newbie here so please have patience with me lol. Um, when I try to do anything such as typing the command "yum list" I get:

[root@sandbox ~]# yum list
Gathering header information file(s) from server(s)
Server: Fedora Core Null Stable
Getting header.info from server
failover: baseURL = http://mirrors.usc.edu/pub/linux/fed...386/yum/stable
failover: path = /headers/header.info
retrygrab() failed for:
http://mirrors.usc.edu/pub/linux/fed...rs/header.info
Executing failover method
retrygrab() failed for:
http://fedora.mirror.sdv.fr/fedora/f...rs/header.info
Executing failover method
retrygrab() failed for:
http://fedora.quicknet.nl/fedora/fed...rs/header.info
Executing failover method
retrygrab() failed for:
http://mirrors.kernel.org/fedora.us/...rs/header.info
Executing failover method
failover: out of servers to try
Error getting file http://mirrors.usc.edu/pub/linux/fed...rs/header.info
[Errno 4] IOError: HTTP Error 404: Not Found

Now I know that it's probably because I am not using FC, but that leads me to my next question, how do I find repositories for RHEL4? I've never used yum before so I'm not sure how to add RHEL related repositories to my yum.conf

Anyone know?

Thanks

do a google search for RHEL4 yum repos... a quick one i just did came up with this:

http://www.city-fan.org/ftp/contrib/yum-repo/rhel4/

once you have a few repos, replace the Fedora ones you already have in your /etc/yum.conf file with the ones you just googled.

If this is on track with your problem and you need more help, or is not quite your problem, don't be afraid to rephrase your question and ask again.
