XMMS sound?

Does xmms play mp3?
Everything is ok with audio CDs, and the sound is ok too when i run mplayer, but if i try to play a mp3 xmms does not work.

Redhat 9 doesnt come w/ MP3 support.

Download the plugin from xmms.org

Also, consider using OGG from now on, its patent free, so you will NEVER run into these sort of problems.

Go here:

http://havardk.xmms.org/dist/xmms-1.2.7-rh8-rh9-rpm/

download the first rpm package (remember where you put it)

~$> cd to that directory and do (from a command line)

rpm -ivh xmms-mpg123-1.2.7-21.i386.rpm

If you do the above given steps , u can listen to mp3 music to your heart's content. Thank you
