xine: problem with subtitles

hi,

xine is my favourite movie player, but i got a problem with playing films and using subtitles.

when i use the context-dialog

open -> subtitles

i get the usual selection window. but if i now select the corresponding srt-file and then click on "select" xine freezes and i have to kill to process...

i have googled about that and found nothing, i have the newest xine-version.

does anybody know where this problem comes from and how to fix it?

thx in advance....
