write to secure digital card Problem


[craig@localhost ~]$ cd Download
[craig@localhost Download]$ sudo dd if=bootldr-1.2.5-hp.rom of=/dev/sdb
400+1 records in

[craig@localhost Download]$

this is what I get for a output how ever there is nothing on the card. please tell me what I am doing wrong.

Well, what do you mean by nothing on the card? If the device node is correct, the card was definitely written to. From the looks of the filename, I would guess what you have written isn't necessarily going to show up as a mountable filesystem, so perhaps that is where the confusion is.

it show no used space on the card. when I try to load the card on to my ipaq it doesn't mount the ipaq starts up and says card is unread able I am trying to load Linux on my ipaq
