When you want to run an exe - eg notepad:
wine notepad.exe
or:
wine setup.exe
There is a config file in your home directory that lets you change your virtual "c:" etc but I would leave it unless you have specific problems/requirements.
so if i installed wine with winesetuptk then I'm done just have to type wine X.exe and it works
what if the .exe is in the cdrom? do i have to be in the wine dir inorder to type wine ???.exe ?
The wine binary on linux should be in your path so you and run it anywhere. You will need to be in hte directory where the exe is or use the full path:
wine /mnt/cdrom/program.exe
Distribution: Mac OS X Leopard 10.6.2, Windows 2003 Server/Vista/7/XP/2000/NT/98, Ubuntux64, CentOS4.8/5.4

A common misconception is that people think that you have to have Windows to run Wine. You do NOT need Windows to run Wine and can install programs/games onto your linux hard drive using Wine.
if you installed wine correctly, it would not matter what directory you are in. If you just type 'wine' in your console, you should get some options and what not. So just go to the directory of the program and type 'wine notepad.exe' and it will work, assuming you set wine up correctly.
by the way how can i install acad2000 ??
everything is ok untill 98% then it says that it cannot read from the address 00......
but acad is working fine in windows (((

http://www.winehq.org sort of explains what it does. WINE was setup to use applications that are used in Windows to run on or in Linux. Its possible to maybe use it to get devices working, but its not common.
