I happen to think they are all working properly.

It is the installer that failed to match your video resulting a break down in communication. The monitor, CD drive and keyboard are waiting for your response but as you can't see what you type or to view the response from the installer you end up with an impression that they have failed.

Can't swear Suse has it but it is time to opt for a text-mode installation.

Once installed the same problem can be easily cured by reconfigure the GUI as you will have a copy of Linux in the hard disk to edit with.

Hi Saikee,

Thanks for the reply.

I don't even get a Bios screen. So - I am at a total loss as to what my next step could be.

The monitor and keyboard are working fine... with another computer (tested). But, with the new one - no communication.

If you have any ideas, they would be welcome.

Bob

Don't think you have given us sufficient information to work with, as after changing your Post #1 we don't even know what exactly is your problem.

On the bios screen that is hardware fault if you can't see it and your problem has nothing to do with any operating system.

If your computer doesn't start due to hardware problem you should abandon this thread and post a separate one in the hardware section.
