Dead mouse and keyboard after update of SUSE 10.0

After running update on SUSE 10.0 my mouse are shown on the middle of the screen, but don't react. The only key I can use ar "ALT+CRTL+DEL" (reboot) and "ALT + F4"(go to CLI). If I start up KDE in CLI (command line) I get "Unable to open display". Are there a work-around ?

I had the same problem while installing yesterday. Solution that worked for me was to rerun the installation en check the box at the end of the installation that says "Start YaST Now" or something like that, I can't exactly remember. Then I changed the mouse settings to Auto, Generic (you will see what I mean when you're there) and restarted my computer. Then the mouse worked.
