which distro??

i am currently running running redhat and xp (workable), debian, and freebsd(non-working) in both of them i get problems w/x. i am fairly well at using red hat 9 and i wanted to also have something a little more cool i guess you would say but i need something that has a good installer as debian and freebsd did nothing for my onboard video (dell dimension 2400,intel1845gv)i have no working internet on debian to update because of winmodem , i need a newer version of x on cd or something, but anyway I was thinking of going with slackware 10.0 , but I am open to any suggestions(redhat 9 detected everything fine so i amlooking for something that can compete with that

mandrake 10 is rather excellent if you want everything to work more or less straight off

slackware 10 is ok too but requires some configuring
great for learning on
