You'll probably find that 'up2date' (thats the red exclamation thing) won't give you shiny-new 'start' menu icons like windoze.
You'll have to set these up for yourself.

If up2date has indeed finished successfully, you should be able to start the program from the command-line with something like:

$ ethereal

If that doesn't work, search your RPM's:

$ rpm -aq | grep -i ethereal

or, try a find:

$ find / -name ethereal -print

Hope this helps.

Thanks, I ran the various commands. Nothing happens form the command line by typing ethereal ( I tried this from various areas where I found ethereal files/directories). I did find an etherealrpm package that is on my system. I could not find an executable anywhere. Do I have to install the rpm package? I had up2date set to download an install but I can't find it available for use anywhere. What do I do once I find the rpm package? thanks

To upgrade your system use yum e.g.
Code:
#yum upgrade
