FC3 up2date say's it has updates,but will not update

FC3 update-4.3.47-5 alert icon flashing and say's it has updates, it list updates, and updates
exist on mirrors, but when running up2date it comes back and say's computer is fully updated.
and won't download updates off mirrors.
I checked for a updated version of up2date but it does not exist.
Yum also say's computer is fully updated.

What gives

When it tries to download the updated rpms it goes to a randomly selected mirror that is in a list on your harddrive. THat mirror may not have the update rpms yet, either. Try it a couple more times. Some of the mirrors might be slow to get updates because they are bogged down with people still getting the fedora install discs. I've had that problem on FC2 and when I tried it later or sometimes just try it again after it said "not updates" then it worked.

I had the same problem today, so I used apt instead to upgrade the packages instead of up2date (yum).

I had the same problem, but after a day or two it worked.. I guess the lines are VERY BUSY!

I had the same problem when i tried to update on the day of the realease, but it worked great the next day, with out any problems. I guess it's just a bandwith issue.

forget up2date all together, just use yum in the terminal. I only keep up2date around for reference for when I should run yum. It will do the same thing as up2date, and it's a whole lot easier.

Just open up the terminal and type "yum update" as root

note: in FC3 you must run up2date up to the point of installing the GPG keys, or yum will not function. FC2 yum already works. I've never used FC1 but I assume it's the same setup as FC2.
